A musical acrobatic show
Looks, touches, rhythms. ConTakt is a contemporary circus piece that is guided and accompanied by exquisite live music. Sounds and instruments blend with the movement and interaction of the six performers. The piece fuses various partner acrobatic disciplines such as hand to hand, Icarian and group acrobatics into flowing movements. The acrobatic construction creates physical imagery flowing to the dynamics of the emotional realm.
The music is a constant but ever evolving accompaniment. All sounds (vocal beatbox, vocals) and instruments (saxophone, harmonica, clarinet) are recorded live with a loop station and mixed directly to electronic beats. In some moments, the performers are instructed through the music, other times a synergistic and constantly reciprocated collaboration between the musician and performer is the status quo.
In this way different atmospheres are brought together by a common thread of music. Apart from the sound system, the piece is unedited and personal. We go without a backstage, lights or make-up.

Tour 2021:
In 2021 ConTakt was performed at Wiener Kultursommers on 8. an 9. July at Donauinsel and Oberlaa in Austria. Directly afterwards the group travelled to perform at Lesliehof, in Graz. On 1. September ConTakt will be performed at a public free event in Görlitzerpark Berlin, made possible through a funding by Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
Creationphase & performances 2020:
ConTakt was created in August 2020 during a two-week artist residency at L ’embellie bains douches in France and then performed on five consecutive days in Graz and Pinkafeld (Austria). Overall, the audience reach of the first performances in 2020 was smaller than originally planned due to the pandemic. We changed from public shows at theaters to a concept which involved private showings at caring day centers and social institutions. It was a special honor to perform for that part of the population that had been particularly isolated in the past few months; in nursing and old people’s homes as well as an SOS Children’s Village. ConTakt was also shown as part of Murkultur on the Murinsel.
This initial phase and creation of the contemporary circus piece was funded by the Federal Chancellery of Austria and the City of Graz. We are very thankful for trust and support.
